SCEE is readying a number of exciting announcements for next month’s Leipzig Games Convention, which is growing in stature each year, says MCV.

First will be a (proper) price cut, due probably around September, but more excitingly for existing owners, are the rumours of Freeview TV and Video-on-demand features.

Freeview, via a small USB key that you’d plug into the PS3, will be all handled via the slick XMB interface, and will more than likely include recording facilities, making the PS3 a powerful PVR as well as Blu-ray video player, internet browser, media centre and of course, games machine.
