15This weekend members of Australia’s official PlayStation website got an email advertising the starter pack, which retails for $999.95 down under. However, the interesting thing is that in the small print at the foot of the email was a disclaimer saying the offer would expire on the 31st of August, or earlier, stock permitting.
Sony reps in Australia have confirmed that the date in the small print was correct, but they will not specify what happens once stock of the 60gb model has run dry.
We’re hoping it’ll be replaced with the new 80gb version, or a cheaper bundle, but obviously nobody outside of Sony knows anything at all.
Update: A spokesperson from SCEE has ensured us that “there is absolutely no time limit on that offer in Europe” so it’s limited to Australia, so panic over.
