We’ve had word that the PSN downtime (starting in 15 minutes) is purely for behind the scenes maintenance work and is nothing to do with Firmware 2.40. During the 5 hour downtime you won’t be able to sign into PSN, register or manage your account, and should you live outside of Europe, you won’t be able to buy anything on the Store (hurhur).

However, if you log in now before the shutdown you’ll still be able to stay connected and play online. Hurry! See you on the other side.
