Naturally, we’ll be bringing you all the news from the Euro-centric Leipzig Games Convention next month, but in the meantime Eurogamer have a little taster: “If you come to Leipzig, you will see the next generation of SingStar,” David Reeves told Eurogamer, “That’s all I will say.”
Damned teased. Presumably SCEE aren’t going to let Microsoft and their Lips title run away with the title of Karaoke King, flashing mics and all, so we’re excited to see what SingStar 2 (or is it 3) will bring to the dancefloor.
In addition, Eurogamer have confirmed that Fall of Man, Heavenly Sword, MotorStorm, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Ratchet & Clank will make up the PS3’s Platinum range, which will launch next month with games just £20, or 30 Euro.
Following the above, Virtua Tennis 3 and Assassin’s Creed will be the initial third-party titles at this new price, followed by some wrestling shite in September. Reeves suggests “ten further titles” from other publishers would follow “between September and the end of November”.

SingStar Volume One and Two are ‘current gen’, they were ‘next gen’ 2 years back. Whatever is cooking will be new.

I meant I thought there was a Singstar on PS2, so PS3’s Singstar should be next-gen, right?
The next generation in a game doesn’t count as ‘next-gen’ unless it’s a generation of consoles higher than the previous game, imo. I may get it when it’s released, though.

Wow feel totally shafted by Sony now. I thought the whole point of Singstar and the singstore on the PS3 was that new features and songs could be added as time went on.
Still waiting for the promised wireless mics for this version of Singstar….
