In the latest issue of OPM (August), Shuhei Yoshida, the new President of SCE Worldwide Studios was interviewed and briefly talks about Fumito Ueda and Team ICO. Talking about Shadow, he says “It took four years and the second game took four years too. So I started calling them the ‘Olympic Team.’ They haven’t released a PS3 title yet – of course not – they’ll take four years! But they have something really, really good on the way.”

Naturally, with Ico out in 2001 and it’s semi-sequel in 2005, we’re hoping for the third Team ICO game next year.  Here’s to the Tokyo Game Show, then.

  1. :(
Oh well, good things come to those who wait.

  2. Whatever strangeness they’ll release, I’ll be there to pick it up like a starving sponge.

  3. Does this mean that the big sony exclusive news thing isnt the new Team Ico game then?

  4. …I wish you’d stop putting speculation in headlines, it’s awfully misleading.

  5. Hopefully it’s the game the BBC journalist was talking about…

  6. Team ICO is one of the few developers that I can easily be forgiven for taking their good time releasing their games.

    • I don’t know. I think the Ico team are more about gameplay. They said in an interview that the story of SotC was accidental lol. They just needed a motivation for the craziness of the game. I also think the BBC game was from the UK or Europe. But that IS a guess.

      • Whoops. Replied to wrong comment.

  7. From linked ‘I started the ICO project’, Whoah, i had no idea Yoshida green lit the ico projects, the fact that this guy is the new president of worldwide studios is awesome.
