I was all but sold on buying this until now. If I cant watch Mock the Week on the train then what is the point….

Ok its still a good product, but it could have been so much better!

Doesn’t really bother me but I do think they’ve missed a trick. I suppose there’s licensing and re-broadcast issues at play, it’s a shame though it turns what could have been a fantastic product into just a decent one. I fear the HD stuff won’t be supported either, making PlayTV that little bit more frustrating for the missed opportunity.

that was an official sony statement….what went wrong???
(i’m sure some ‘entrepreneur’ will be able to hack it so it can download ‘elsewhere’

Come on Sony sort your PR dept out, HMV are still telling people you can tranfer Content with the play TV to PSP

i dont have a psp…. but being able to watch recorded programs may have led me to buy one… no chance of that now i guess

Oh well. Even just to the PSP would have done nicely. Really hope it will support the 4 HD channels (when they come out).

Question 1: Does your PS3 have to be switched on to record scheduled programs or will it be able to turn on (from stand-by), record, then turn off again?

Question 2: Will folding@home work when recording, just like games and movies do?

Noo! I’m sure that’s not what was said originally. This would have been great for watching last nights TV on the train on your PSP. WiFi only access doesn’t cut it. I’m peeved

Too bad.
I´m not always near wifi hotspots, and it would be nice to be able to watch recording offline on the psp or a laptop.
Just like (… what did they use back then… ) VHS..?
