Our roving reporter over at Leipzig has played WipEout HD, and he loves it.  He tells us that the Zone mode has been paired down a little (giving more weight to our epilepsy exclusive) but as a whole the game is looking incredible.

Interestingly, the version at Leipzig appears feature complete, with a full set of levels and even Trophies already fully implemented (and the game features a Platinum Trophy, too, suggesting a higher PSN price than non-Platinum games) and our reporter described it as ‘ready to roll’.

Hopefully this means a release is imminent.

  1. oooh, goody goody two shoes…

  2. If anyone didn’t expect this to be £20-ish already they just weren’t thinking about it properly.

  3. Ooh this might make my first WipEout game!

  4. You do appreciate the irony of saying that an anti-gravity racing game is ‘ready to roll’, right?

  5. lulz @ Gamoc, both comments.

nofi, you meant “pared” as in thinly cut not “paired” as in placed with another, if you weren’t such an amusing newswriter I’d ridicule your lack of spelling prowess but then I’d probably get banned or stabbed or something.

Back on topic – I’m not very excited about this, I never really liked any of the Wipeout games but the Fatal Inertia demo was alright so maybe it’s worth a punt.

  6. i’m hoping it’ll be no more than £20! i think 20 is a fair price. the game looks awesome but is just a glossy Wipeout Pure. also i’d expect there’ll be extra teams & tracks to purchase in time like Pulse so theres plenty more money to be made

  7. I love this game – great sound tracks!
Will defo be getting it from the PSN a.s.a.p!

  8. shouldnt that be ready to float?
what with them not having any wheels an all :)

  9. It shouldnt cost extra just because it has a platinum trophy.. While they are a nice feature, they dont justify extra cost for the game. Having said that, I would happily pay £20 for this.
