Burnout Paradise, our favourite racer since Beetle Adventure Racing, will be available to download from the PSN Store on Thursday, according to Criterion.  Great news for those still to get the game, but for those of us already clutching our Blu-ray version, even greater news: there’ll be a retroactive Trophy patch on the same day.

Thanks to everyone that emailed in about this.

Update: here’s the list of Trophies.

  1. You know, I’ve really come to like those guys at Criterion.

  2. You know, I’d really like to come on those guys at Criterion.

    Too far, maybe?

    • definitely too far. I admire your honesty though.

  3. I come like Criterion?

  4. Criterion are showing other devs how to support a game, and getting the respect of fans the world over

Come on Ubisoft – Trophy patch for assassin’s

    • Seconded! Assassins Creed need trophs

  5. Burnout was originally intended to come out on the US store, but seeing as the article mentioned no store location, its possible it could be europe too :D

And also, here’s the trophy list: http://www.ps3trophies.org/game/burnout-paradise/trophies/

  6. These guys really knows how to keep an “old” game alive ;-)

    • COD4 is older than it, but still thousands play on it. Age of a game doesn’t matter IMO, its the quality, and you don’t get many better than burnout.

      • Burnout has the best dev support ever IMO.

  7. Ha ha i will be d/loading this, been wanting to get this game, now i have no excuse, how much do ya think it will be?

    • It will cost $29,99 on the US store.

  8. Yeah, after a bit of a look round, i thinks its only going to be on the us store, damn, o well looks like the blu-ray version then. :)

  9. Off topic

Is NBA Live 09 getting trophy support?
because I know the 360 version is getting achievements.

    • I bit off topic, but yes I remeber seeing a list of trophies awhile back. So as far as I know it will be supporting trophies

      • I hope your right because I dont want to buy NBA 09 The Inside which does have trophies….its a ps3 exclusive but its the cheapest nba game.

  10. And I was thinking Burnout Paradise couldn’t get much better! Criterion you guys are awesome!!!.

  11. Here’s an interesting thought (to me anyway), the Platinum Trophy is awarded for getting “all trophies from Burnout Paradise (excluding Additional Content trophies)”.

Anyone know why this is, given the Additional Content is both free and (as far as I’m aware) a mandatory install?

Still, if it makes getting Platinum a bit easier I don’t think anyone will complain!

    • Think it must be refering to additional content yet to come, as some of these trophies are for bike stuff.

  12. Are all the trophies retro active? if so I would get more than i thought i would!

  13. I’m looking forward to my many free trophies…

not gotten around to playing much of eden for the trophies there..

  14. This is excellent. Burnout Paradise continues to impress.

Didn’t we just get an update last week?!

  15. yea it was probably a case of having the releases going through QA at seperate times… one is just sony (trophies) the other was sony and MS (davis update/bikes pack) so they submitted the bikes pack earlier incase there were more bugs (like the cagney update)
