According to MCV’s sources this morning, the supermarket chain Sainsburys are slashing the prices of the Wii and the 360 this week.  From tomorrow, the Wii will be just £150, and the 360 (Arcade) will be just £100, which is an amazing deal.  If you’re after a ‘better’ 360, then the 60GB model will be reduced from £170 to £140.

Great news for consumers (and Microsoft and Nintendo) but shitty news for struggling independent stores – “Maybe we should all start selling bread & apples and slash the arse out of the prices” said on indie shop owner, with another saying “I’m now not buying hardware from Koch or Gem, as that’s my pofit margin out the window, well if you can call it profit! Great, another supermarket as my supplier.”
