Rumors have begun surfacing that Home will be released on November 19th however this may not actually be the case. The date seems to come from a reported release date of Microsoft’s “New Xbox Experience” and some press automatically assuming that Home would be released on the same day (for some reason).

Optimum Online printed the original article stating, “Sony Corp.’s twice delayed online “Home” virtual world for the PlayStation 3 console will be available sometime later this year, while U.S. software maker Microsoft Corp., which competes with its Xbox 360, is starting “New Xbox Experience” worldwide Nov. 19.”

  1. I’d like to think we’ll have home before then. Just need to wait and see.

  2. Ahh, a confirmed date…..probably.

  3. What the hell is “New XBox Experience”?

  4. If Sony don’t release Home either on, or before the 19th of November, then Microsoft will have beaten them to a social networking avatar based gaming experience

And given all the fanfare, and hype around Home, they can’t let this happen, can they? surely not?

But with Home being not that much more than a central plaza area, and 1 or 2 game specific rooms are they going to be ready

I know at TGS they announced that 13 game developers were making there own ’spaces’

But… Home will not be a Big Bang Event It will be an ever increasing beta maybe in the form of friend invites (like gmail did)

    • but I have no friends, how will I ever get Home!?

      • I’ll invite you… just need to find someone to invite me,

god this is complicated, probably best we just wait and see what happens

  5. Omfg…Sony introduces Home years ago, and Microsoft just gave it away a few weeks after telling everyone about it!

And then sony expects to have a lot of sales from the PS3…god they’re such idiots

  6. Ive now reached a point of Meh when it comes to Home.
My mate got onto the beta and i saw it.
It certainly seems over hyped. they’ve left it too long in my opinion.
If it was out within months of the PS3 being launched then fair one but now it’s got beyond a joke.
Got a feeling Sony got complacent when they saw the 360 specs and thought more power equals more sales!!

    • Yeh…who the hell cares about power? We buy consoles for fun! If we want power we’ll just buy a super-PC lol

  7. Life With Playstation had some good hype before it came out and then it turned out to be a crapper! I just hope sony for once just listens to what everyone is saying and incorporates it into Home. Please sony don’t get us hyped just to delay it a couple of times and and then make it crappy!

    • Folding@home > Life with Playstation

      • How exactly? It’s my understanding that Folding@Home is inside Life with Playstation totally untouched except for XMB access and custom music. I actually really like Life with playstation, it’s not especially useful but they could’ve done a lot worse.

The problem is the Sony fanbase building it up to be some uber-newsreader second coming and obviously being let down when it turned out to be nothing more than a fun add-on. Which is basically the same thing that’s going to happen to Home, the hype is generated by the fanbase and so that very same fanbase is let down when the end product isn’t as amazing as they made it up to be.

  8. November 19th is my birthday!!!! I can only hope. If this turns out to be true, I’ll have to make sure to get something nice for Sony for Christmas. I don’t think socks will cut it anymore.

  9. Folding shows me the status of my folding. Life puts some stupid news globe that close to never get updated on top of it.

  10. hold down square, select the folding channel from the dialogue that pops up. Hey presto, you’ve got folding at home just the way it used to be.

  11. Except with no auto-off
