This is strange that put’s it about 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm US time where I live. Now I believe Socom is released today although I still need to check with Gamestop to make sure. That means I will not be able to play it tonight which does not make sense. With one of Sony’s exclusive titles and the fact it is online only I would think they would not have PSN being down for any extendid period of time. So either I was wrong and Socom is actually released tomorrow or PSN will not be down or of course Sony is making a huge mistake here.

Yeah interesting point,
The FW update is reported to contain the feature which will enable the Sony headset to communicate in HQ mode with the PS3
It would have made sense for this to be live in time for the shops opening in the US, rather than peak time in the evening
We’ll have to see how it pans out

Exactly why I figured it would of been live this morning when I got up. O well not like Sony has never been late with something before. Here’s to hoping I can at least play some Socom tonight wether U can talk on the Mic or not

well I just talked to Gamestop and no Socom till the 15th in the US at least if you got it thru Gamestop. So PSN going down tonight and the firmware update tomorrow does make sense now.

It comes out here same day as Res2 (28/11)…what kind of crazy release schedule is that!!
We would have liked the benefit of the h/set ready for when Res2 comes out… now for man peoples it’s going to be an either/or decision of which game to choose

agreed that doesn’t make any sense. It would of been one thing if it was released on 28/10. But that is a month and a half after the US. Plus we get R2 on 4/11. That is really strange. But then again I guess you guys are getting used to this.
