You might have read that for some reason 250 journalists are headed to San Francisco today for an amazing, ‘earth shattering’ announcement. Well, we weren’t invited, but that’s OK, because we reckon it’s just the Knights of the Old Republic MMO that’s been rumoured for ages. Gamespot, ActionTrip, and DigitalBattle seem to think so too.
All 250 journalists will be manically scrambling to upload screenshots and press releases at 2pm today, so keep an eye on the internet (1UP are live blogging it) if this is your thing. Us? We’ll be waiting to see if it’s coming for the PS3 too. If not, well, this is the last you’ll hear of it here.

MMO’s on consoles?
Sony has spent the last 2 years telling us the PS3 is the best media hub (and it is!) this gives it pride of place in any household under the main TV
Most MMO players put in a minimum of a four hour shift every day (some people obviously far more)
But unless you live alone, how can you hog the main TV for that long
mind most MMO players probably do live alone

i spose the difference is going to be the console-specific mmo’s which will hopefully arise.
dip-in, dip-out ones that dont reward hours and hours of grinding.
personally i’d love to see time-limited mmo’s that only let people play for a certain amount of time a day or week. it’d be cool to know that you’re not miles behind everyone.
never happen though

That’s why I have all my consoles on my private TV.
I never tried KOTOR. Never owned the original xbox, nor get the motivation to get it for PC. Never was a big fan of the Star Wars games, or Star Wars in general. I was hoping Force Unleashed would grab my attention, but sadly it did not.

KOTOR was a laugh, good story, but it dragged on, not as bad as world of warcraft though I had a quick go it was definitely a day of my life wasted!
Mass Effect looks cracking in that you do the usual third person shooty stuff and still get the rpg aspect, it would be nice if this new Star Wars game was something like that.

I’m more interested in Alpha Protocol. It’s like a cross between Mass effect, KOTOR and 007. Google it.

After the first KNOTOR received praise, I played the second one when it came out. It was not very good at all. The story was just ok and the combat was bland, uninteresting, and quickly became monotonous. You can take a poop in a box and put a StarWars logo on it, but it is still a poop in a box. I do not advise any one doing that by the way…
A PS3 MMO based on the Start Wars universe has potential. Hopefully the battle system will be better than the last game they made.

Yes, but if Han Solo kept a poop in a box on the dashboard of the ‘Falcon then I’d want one for my car.

I love Star Wars with a passion but hated every moment of the crappy kotor. Crap buggy gfx and boring gameplay. I hope it’s not another iteration.

Just had the press release through: it’s an MMO, PC only. Yawn.

I liked KOTOR2, it was good, but not enough for me to finish it. Sith ftw.
