Command and Conquer: Red Alert’s TV presenter David Silverman has spoken to Videogamer.com on the issues surrounding the PS3 version of the game.  “When we announced Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 we announced there was a PS3 version, then we decided to go on the record and say that we’ve suspended it to make sure that RA3 was able to come out to the level of quality that it must adhere to to be called a C&C game. We’ve hit that mark, we’ve shipped the game.”

“And you know what that means?” he continues. “That means there’s another version left to be had. So there’s definitely people working on a PS3 version and we’ll be talking more about that later.”

Seems like it’s still quite a way away, but Silverman has assured us that PS3-only owners should bide their time.  “We’re looking at doing some really cool things with the PS3 version,” he said. “Since it is shipping later we’re putting in a lot of cool content and really taking advantage of both the 1080p nature and the high-defness of Blu-Ray and also the fact that it can hold just so much more space.”

Blu-ray: high-defness indeed.

  1. thats pretty good news, i was mildly dissapointed when i heard it might not be coming to PS3 cos i was kinda looking forward to seeing what this game would be like.
May have to pick this up when it finally comes out. i was a hardcore fan of the first c&c and red alert…

  2. A big delay kinda takes the sting out of it though doesn’t it? I know Bioshock would have been a much bigger deal if we’d got it at the same time as the 360.

  3. The extra development time required means that publishers can’t hit the all important street dates, the PC & 360 are so similar they often get developed in tandem and the PS3 is a bit of an after thought… not just blockbuster releases like this but also on the PSN like Age Of Booty

Glad to hear it’s coming though, and they’re not simply doing a lazy port and actually putting some work into it

I’m sure Bioshock wasn’t delayed on the PS3 it was just a timed 360 exclusive

    • I think it was just timed rather than development issues but if it had been a simultaneous release I think the PS3 world would have gotten more excited about it than we did.

  4. I like the way he’s making up for failing at first. Especially the way he talks about the upsides of a PS3 and Blu-ray. He’s right though. PS3 rules :)

  5. *Gaaasp*

  6. If they are really doing it right, could as well add USB mouse (or even bluetooth mouse) support!

  7. Damn, I’m really happy to hear this. For a while there I thought I had to buy it for X360..

Anyway, looking forward to it, wheter it’s mouse compatible or not :)

  8. end of the day, just another delay :(
gasp! im a poet and i dont know it
    I make a rhyme everytime :o
