You might have seen today, on other more dubious websites, some leaked information regarding the 1.0 release of Home, including a list of additions and changes. Well, those changes were posted in the private Beta forums just this afternoon, and are intended to be kept as such, so we won’t be repeating them here.
Rest assured though that the update list is comprehensive and all our issues with earlier versions have been put to rest, and there’s some really exciting new features in there. A few of which we’ve rumoured here on TSA in the past, but it’s nice to see them in black and white.
Your patience will be rewarded.

I’ve not seen many displays of patience.
I’m looking forward to the release, but as I have been for too long, I’m going to put it to the back of my mind until I turn my PS3 on and it appears ready for me to download/install/upgrade.
I’ve just got a couple of new games today to add to the pile of other new games I haven’t got time to play!

How would I go about bothering Sony enough to get a beta invite ?
P.S. Can’t wait to get on home and catch up on what ET has been up to !! lol
I’m kinda fed up of hearing anything to do with any beta,( not your fault ) because I haven’t had a whiff of an invite in 20 months .

Only don’t waste your time, they’re not taking any more applicants right now for any betas.

Also, i’d donate something if a castle type place was available as DLC, Turn our TSA Apartment to the TSA Tower.

In my opinion… HOME, will be another one of those Duke Nukem type of games, you liked them in the 80’s (or whenever they were out)… but now, no…. just no.
Im not saying it’ll be a ‘bad’ game, im just stating that when i have played the BETA, it seemed a bit… slow, if you know what i mean. I seemed like you customized your room, which, to my knowledge (which is very limited) is going to be VERY restricted. And then you go out, walk around. You say ‘oh that is just great’… and the next day… you just cant be bothered to play it.
I know people are going to say “well that’s the point”… well, your wrong, it was NOT the point of home. Sony tried to make an ‘exciting’ experience for gamers to immerse themselves into, and never look back.
I can see why people like it though, it does have a certain “I can look cool here” factor, which is fine with me.

Anybody see Dress?
Thats not my thing but it looks kinda great
Walking round some virtual world talking to people I don’t know?
Thats not my thing, but if you’ve got a few friends, and with some of the forthcoming functionality it will offer a different experience on a console.
I’m bored with the delays Home has experienced, I understand the beta has been only sparsely populated with things to do, but more things are coming online all the time
12 out 13 developers at TGS said they would develop something in Home
It is a beta, the lag and buginess get better with every FW update.
All I want is to be in it, I would like to know a date, but until then I have 31 Dec in mind, and if I’m not in it by then, then I’ll get angry

Just to get this across to some people (no offence intended) but I noticed some people are refering to HOME as a game, it’s not a game guys, it’s a tool, an application if you will, to meet other gamers and join games with, to socialise with people on your level of gaming, to view new products, yes we have the playstation store, but HOME will have a more interactive type store.
Events will be shown in HOME, like we saw with TGS, all the expos will be there. The ideas of appartments and clubs are ideally as meeting spaces for groups of friends and clans to discuss gaming or tactics before they head into a game, game spaces to advertise current and future games. You do not play HOME, you utilize it.

All cool, I really am looking forward to getting in there, but…
Unlike all consoles made before it the PS3 has been manufactured to be a media hub, it has the pride of place in many homes on the main TV, it is not shoved away in the spare room like most peoples PS2/PS1/Megadrives where etc…
Obviously the main TV in the house is shared with everyone else, which in turn means playing time can be limited.
If I’ve got half and hour before EastEnders starts, then I’m more likely to get straight into game than I a wondering around a virtual plaza, talking about a game.
Now if the PS3 wasn’t the best media hub ever made, then I may have stuck it in the spare room, then I could send all night on it.
The situation is the same for most people who don’t live with their parents.
The situation could be partially resolved by opening Home up to remote-play

Great idea CC. I found out yesterday that 1/2 the PS3 Population have PSPs.
I barely use mine now. If Sony put more effort into Connectivity between the two I’d be more inclined to pick it up. I, like you, have to share my main TV and if there was more I could do game and social wise vie remote play I’d be a happy bunny!
