Criterion announced another of their upcoming DLC packages today. Essentially it’s a hot rod that goes like stink in a straight line. Probably not good at corners then.
Looks pretty cool though and it is just another example of Criterion’s fine after-sales support of this title.
So that leaves one more “coming soon” slot on their website yet to be filled with a formal announcement. ‘Planes anyone?
I only bought Burnout last night and I have to say, its every bit as good as you all told me. I look forward to these packs when they become available in early 2009.

Hey colossal I got burnout a few months back but didn’t get to do a lot of it online (if any). So hit me up on PSN if you wanna give it a go sometime.

I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure they’ve said they can’t/won’t ever add crash mode to Paradise.

Good stuff, this game has to be one of the best purchases i’ve had on ps3, and is definately leading the pack in terms of dlc.

I’ll get the D’Lorean, the Toy car set with the Monster Truck looks ok, that would be fun to tear around Paradise. Can’t say I’m that fussed about this one. When is Paradise Island coming? IMO We need some new routes and sceneary not new cars!

The Island is announced as a purchasable pack for early 2009 as well I think.

I’m pretty sure the island is the last free update isn’t it?

You could be right, I can’t find any information. I thought it was originally announced with no mention of price so everyone assumed it was free (like everything else they’ve patched in) but then they talked about pricing stuff?
I’m confused now, off to do some research.

Argh, is this game worth it?
I’m just not sure.

Yes mate it really is, really good fun! and its so cheap, I got mine 2nd hand mths back for £22.99 @ Blockbuster, am sure its much cheaper now, isn’t it a platinum title i.e. £20?

It is one of the best games on PS3 in my opinion. Certainly the best arcade racer. It’s accessible, fun, varied and the nline play is slick and stable. I bought it on release and partly thanks to the regular updates and add-ons I am constantly going back to it.

They have changed their site it seems, used to be really, really red? (Or is there another Burnout site?)
Anyway doesn’t say about cost, but I am relatively sure on the old site it was listed as a free update!
I’d buy it for sure though and the D’Lorean is a 100% purchase (I got to sit in the real one the other day and have a pic) the guys have given us ample already so will deffo be showing my support!

If I was to buy the game would all DLC that has to be paid for be on the game therefore meaning I don’t have to pay extra? Or will I still have to get it from the store?
colossalblue Says:
November 21st, 2008 at 7:50 pm
Nothing has been paid yet so you’d get all the updates along with the game (if you buy from the PSN, if you buy from a shop the game will update itself when you first run it) the paid updates are all coming next year and we’ll all have to pay for them.
There is a special edition being released next year but it only inlcludes the free updates and the party pack.

Thanks. I think I’ll go get it sometime. It gets DLC all the time so it must be fairly good. Any ideas how much paid updates may cost.

Nothing firm, I would guess at probably about a fiver for the cars and maybe £10 for the island but that is only a guess and who knows with the PS Store’s new pricing system?
November 21st, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Well worth the purchase. I have put tons of time into this game and they have supported it so well with all the free updates. I will gladly pay for anything new since they have supported us so well.
