Searching For Resistance

Mon, Dec 1, 2008 at 4:10 pm

News

The 8/10 Resistance 2 is a great game, but it’s one distributed by the now-in-administration Entertainment UK, which had let to supply problems for some of EUK’s customers: namely Zavvi, WHSmith and Currys, says GI.biz.  “Since EUK went into administration,” said a spokesperson for the company, “the administrators have either met or spoken with the majority of customers and suppliers and constructive talks are ongoing.”

Whilst the game is in other shops not suppled by EUK, such as GAME and HMV, the company’s inability to get the AAA game to major outlets may well affect their chance of a buyout as, we’d assume, most the public aren’t really prepared to wait and have shopped elsewhere this weekend.  The spokesperson couldn’t confirm when the affected stores could expect their copies.

I say they did people a service. They should take it to its ultimate conclusion and just dump all the shipments of that rubbish game into the Thames, but then again that would get Green Peace on their backs for polluting the waters with that games toxic mediocrity.

It’s just kamiboy. He has to cover up his deeper self by the use of overly verbose prose. He really needs therapy.

Bah, humbug! Therapy? What I really need is for games to stop sucking, or at least for people to realise when they do, like they used to.

I was just about to post this, damn you nofi and your superior newsgathering!

Seriously, I think this might just be the death knell for EUK unless they get folded in to a huge company who just buys them for the logistics side of the business.

Well I don’t need to worry about searching for R2, as i’ve got my copy and had it since last Thursday. Got my copy for £34.99, but shopto.net now have it for only £32.29.

All the online retailers have it and with prices like ShopTos being almost universally unbeatable, I have long since stopped even looking in physical shops for games.

My local Morrisons weren’t stocking it this weekend either. Don’t think the latest sales charts have been released yet but it won’t be pretty for R2. After this and the debacle surrounding the LBP launch SCEE must really be cursing their luck.
