Looks like we jumped the gun a little, but hey, Firmware 2.53 is now finally out for download. Grab it by switching on your PS3, or download it from here. The update, mainly designed to boost Flash playback options, now allows full use of the BBC’s iPlayer and countless other flash based websites.

Does this mean that iplayer et al will work properly now? Will I be able to watch any video on these sites in a full screen mode (like on a pc) but on PS3 or do I have to settle for some poor resolution zoomed in view?

Iplayer asks you to zoom with “right stick” when viewing. You think the BBC and Sony are working together on this?

won’t download.. on my pc and i’m pulling 18kb/s.. which is good.. before it said 25 DAYS to download it..
Others on the PS3 forums have there same problems and were all using Tiscali or Pipex….. :/
