Buying Games > Renting games > Buying Second Hand Games > Murder. Rent games, and you’re only two steps away from killing someone, but if that doesn’t phase you, check out GAME’s brand new rental service. Looks about the same price as Lovefilm to us, and features a 10 day trial period just in case you’ve no idea what renting something is all about.

Suppose it would be out of the question for them to just lower the price of games to reasonable levels. Remember PS1 new releases were £30, PS2 £30 to £40, PS3 £45 to £50. Granted theres higher production costs but surely theres also a bigger market to sell to.

What Game do you even go to?
There are no PS3 games over £45 other than Guitar Hero and the like, and the vast majority of them are £40. Hell, Fallout 3 is brand new and is £27.

What GAME do you go to?
Seriously, I’d like to know if you can get Fallout for £27.

You can.

You can. I actually got it from Asda (it was an impulse buy whilst I was already in there) for £30 a few days before I saw it in Game.

You get the special edition with the figurine for 27 quid as well, if rather buggy walking simulators are your thing

I’ve never payed more than £39.99 for a PS3 game. I think you’re buying your games from the wrong place. Sounds like they’re ripping you off. They are all £40 or less at play.com and I’ve seen them even cheaper than that at other retailers.

So we’re only supposed to buy 1 game from now on?

I can’t be held responsible for the murder.
If only the dev’s had made the game good enough to be worth the £40 then I wouldn’t have rented games and then bought second hand ones.

Devs made games good enough i can agree with. But then thats what demo’s and reviews are for. I think this is a bad move! Game makes more money via rental service, developer makes less as games are rented instead of purchased. But then developer loses potential profits and funds for further development, then GAME lose out cos they will have no new games to sell from developers! Gamestation got it right with the 7 day return policy. Don’t like it take it back and let someone else buy it. I am strongly against pre-owned games and renting games. I really hope devs get a big chunk from GAME for rentals

I use SwapGame for this and they are faultless. Very quick turnaround and I always get a game from the top 3 on my list of preferences and more often than not, my top one.
They also let you buy the game if you like it, charge you a reduced price and send the box and manual. I’ve never done that though cos their used prices are too high and normally more than a new copy from ShopTo or similar.

Uh oh, Does that mean I’m 1 step away from murdering someone?
Although I haven’t bought a second hand game in a while

You could never commit a crime hodgi, they’d take fingerprints at the scene and your massive left thumb-print would always give you away.

So what is the verdict on buying games from a different Region?
Why pay 65€ for a game if you can have 3 new ones for around 100€?
They clearly CAN sell the games at that price. I paid 27€ for LBP when it came out. Plan to do the same for Tomb Raider and some other new games.
Renting of games has been officially banned in Belgium. 1 January is the deadline.
65€.. Thats 55£! They’re having a laugh..

How many retail stores will still refund cash for games because they aren’t entertaining? How about just an equal exchange for a copy of a different game?
