Next Metal Gear Not PS3?
Green symbols appear on Konami website referencing ‘next Metal Gear’.
Green symbols appear on Konami website referencing ‘next Metal Gear’.

Ah, Konami, you tease us so. This just sprang up on the Kojima Productions site this morning, it’s a flash landing page with nothing but the Konami logo and the image above. Is the green a reference to the 360? Are the exclamation marks a reference to the Wii, or Ac!d, or the DSi? Is that a PC power button? Whichever, we have a sinking feeling this isn’t a PS3 game…

Bloody hell, but as long as we get it on the PS3 as well, I’ll live. I wonder how the quality will be though, seeing as Kojima is done with the series.

The teaser is really nothing but random characters placed on the internet to cause arguments for Kojima’s sick and twisted pleasure.

It’s a Metal Gear Game.
Metal Gear is built on silly references and stuff.
As much as it could be that, it could just as equally be teasing everyone else.

hmmmmmmm interesting…. *ponders and strokes chin in intrigue….
My outlandish guess given purely to fuel the internet rumour mill is:
The new Metal Gear game is actually a HD remake of Space Invaders! FACT!

Anyone else think it might be an online RPG type thing? Here come some detectiving skills:
i = internet
! = action
circle = the world
Gotta be honest I’m not a fan of the Metal Gear games, hey ho.

Or maybe the i is an inverter !, like in Spanish. there we have it, the next Metal gear game will be exclusive to Spain.

The title of this story is a little on the inflamatory side don’t you think?

My thoughts exactly. It would actually make sense and could be an awesome game on the iPhone. The ‘killer app’ the iPhone’s been waiting for?
Also notice it says ‘A next metal gear’ not ‘THE next….’
I’m assuming this won’t be the next one out. It’ll be after….who knows.

They have to be bullshitting, Metal Gear is a PS game, nothing else. If they start making MGS for other consoles, great, if they don’t make it on the PS3 console as well, not great.
It’s ok to do it like Square Enix does, but that’s the line, and no one should cross the line.

Actually, there were two spinoff MGS games that came out on different consoles. MGS Twin Snakes on Gamecube, and MGS2 Substance on the Original Xbox. I woudn’t be surprised if there was another spinoff on Wii or 360. At the same time, if Kojima came out with an MGS4 game on 360, it won’t be “Guns Of The Patriots”. Besides, that shade of green isn’t the same one as the Xbox’s.

The ! symbol is in all Metal Gear games, I don’t think it necessarily refers to Acid. My own interpretation is
(something) + (Metal Gear) = (On)
Not sure what the i refers to, could be DSi or iTouch I suppose.
That shade of green is not to my liking though…

Not sure what console it is – if it was for 360 the ring would surely be red?

Correction. If it was green and then turned red, then it would be a 360 game. If it was just red, no worries, it’s PS3.
Green is Xbox,
Red is PS3,
White is Wii,
Blue is PS2.

Thanks. I’ve been around about 6 months or so but don’t post often because I’ve not worked out how to change my password from the randomly generated one I got when I signed up and I’m too lazy to bother to find it to paste in so I can log in normally!
p
I’m just feeling especially bitter about 360s at the moment because mine’s due to be delivered back to me today having had the dreaded 3 red lights last week – second time in a year it’s happened!

Consider yourself luckily. My mates on his 5th this year. Why he sticks with it I’ll never know.
