Love it or hate it even more LittleBigPlanet DLC costumes are on their way in the form of Street Fighter characters. They’re looking mighty cutesy (not to mention tempting) as always although sadly they’re a tad on the expensive side with the full pack setting you back $5.99 (Euro pricing TBA) for 4 costumes and $1.99 for one. Does anyone else think Media Molecule are setting a dangerous precedent for expensive DLC? Regardless, check out the link below for pics!

  1. To be honest I don’t see the point in paying for costumes especially when I’m still collecting new ones in game…

But while they look very cool I’ll do a deal with Sony – if they release Street Fighter HD over here this Thursday, I’ll buy the Guille costume to celebrate

    • Personally, I’d pay for costumes if they were a reasonable price like £1 for a pack of 4. Some extra costumes add very little to the experience but MM think they can get away with charging obscene prices for these things, imo they should be ashamed. And as you say, new costumes are already very readily available in the game, so why buy more?

  2. If they were all about £0.39 I probably would’ve snapped most of them up so far.

  3. Saw these a while ago, I thought they were cute, didn’t realise they’d be priced so ridiculously.

    • At least they’ve not gone to 3.99

To be honest the only thing I’d buy downloadable level packs for the story mode, and only then if it was sensibly priced (keep in mind that r & c quest for booty was sensibly priced, and that was a whole game, not just some extra levels

I would never buy a costume, even if there weren’t thousands in the game being given to me all the time for free

    • ***ooops double post***

  4. No, MM aren’t. Sony choose the prices, not Media Molecule.

  5. Zangief though? Hardly a favourite. I would have gone for Blanka personally.

  6. I like the fact that they put costumes on PSN, but I wouldnt pay for them. If I can get more from the game with the DLC, then I might buy it, but new costumes should be free, imo, maybe as a thankyou for buying the game. The problem is we’re getting to a stage, where content will be removed from the game at release and then offered as paid DLC after release.. Like the extra Star Wars character in Soul Calibur 4. I can see that happening more and more, and can only be a bad thing, so I for one wont buy this stuff purely as I believe its a slippery slope.

  7. In fact I’ve changed my opinion of these promotional costumes from meh! to pissed off-ness at the barefaced cheek of it all

These costumes exist purely to promote the Streetfighter game

Remind me again, why are we paying for a game to be promoted to us?

Anyone who buys one is officially a muppet, and if anyone who joins me in game is wearing one I will fling you into GamerRiley’s Firepit V1.0

    • I’m tempted to now just to visit GamerRiley’s Firepit

  8. That’s how you promote something for free. You show ‘em how it’s done CC

  9. Im over LBP…

  10. It’s kind of expensive for a virtual costume. I paid about that amount for my Halloween costume! I was disguised as a pedophile-rapist! I made a hit at the party… and at the police station!

Since user-made levels are free, I don’t know what else could MM have as paid DLC. Maybe a library of new textures, pre-made shape or mechanism..?

At this price, my sack is gonna stay naked!
