That story we broke?  Well, we can reveal that the next Metal Gear Solid game is for the…  iPhone.  Yep, Metal Gear Solid Touch is based on the PS3’s MGS4, will be released in Spring 2009 and will feature additional downloadable content.  Konami are also working on iPhone versions of Dance Dance Revolution, Frogger and Silent Hill.

    Well, I do what I can Nofi!:P

    It may not happen, but i hope that this is cross compatable with the iPod Touch…. It might sway me into buying one if it is.

        Pretty much, if they don’t need mic input or GPS.
        (tried to remember wither the iPod Touch has GPS)

    Phew! So much relief right now. I don’t own an iPhone or iPod Touch, but to hear the next MGS has nothing to do with the 360 is music to my ears :)

    I’m glad it isn’t going to Microsoft, that would hurt. But I doubt I’ll buy this for my iphone.

    I don’t have an iphone, and I’ve never really been interested in them, though a new Metal Gear means I am forced to consider it.

    Phew, was a bit scared that MS might have gotten a hold of it. I don’t own an iPhone either, and I won’t. Looking forward to the new MGS on PS3 (’cause there will be one, right?).

    I hope Konami keep it as a PlayStation exclusive, although it will be difficult for Konami to do so, as the other consoles are outselling the PS3 and in someways the PSP.

    I have an iPhone 3g, and it works wonders with this site. The lads have made a simple version of the site for the iPhone browser, and I love that I can visit it anywhere. With the built in iPod and iTunes, it’s a great little gizmo. Loadsa free apps online, and some you have to pay for. But some essential things to consider: you must own a pc and create an iTunes account. The camera isn’t impressive. You cannot manage music or videos or sync with ps3. I can kill the battery in 2 days easy. It’s quite a complicated little device. But it’s reliable, looks lovely, charges within 2 hours, does everything but the washing. Is getting metal gear. And think has come down in price if you’re after pay as you go. Oh, and your tied to O2 hear in the UK.

      I hate this camera rubbish. All phone cameras are crap. The iPhone has a 2mp camera compared with some phones that have 5mp or even 8mp but they are all crap cameras because the sensor size is too small, the more megapixels you have, the bigger the crappy picture you get but it will always be a slightly crappy picture.

      Lack of video, MMS and copy/paste on the iPhone however, are drawbacks.

        Is a small crappy picture not worse than a big crappy picture? or if you make the bigger crappy picture smaller does it not look good enough for most people?

        Its scandalous that the lack of video, MMS and copy/paste hasn’t been sorted in the 3G version, but then people might not have a reason to upgrade to the iPhone3
