EA's crime sequel, The Godfather II, gets a release date, and it's earlier than we thought.

Despite how little has been seen of this title, EA has announced that the release of The Godfather II is just over a month away, with the crime sequel set to be release in Europe and the UK on February 27th. Apparently the game was previously slated for some time in March but has now been brought forward. Always nice to get a game early right?

EA’s official statement says, ”Electronic Arts Inc. and Paramount Digital Entertainment have today confirmed that The Godfather II videogame will be released in the UK on February 27th, rather than the March date publicised previously.” It went on to say, ”Inspired by the film and Mario Puzo’s Corleone family drama, The Godfather II game goes beyond the film’s story by setting players in the world of organized crime in 1960′s Florida, Cuba and New York. As the head of the family, players can build a crew and grow their family in an effort to become the most powerful mob syndicate in America.”

Having had so little information on the game since it’s announcement in August of last year, I can offer no opinion of the game whatsoever, which makes a change. And thinking about it, something about that date rings a bell, like something really big is coming out. I can’t quite put my finger on it though…oh well, I’m sure EA know what it is and thought they’d be alright.
