Killzone 2 Bundle Set For Europe

As the release of a potential Game Of The Year candidate draws ever nearer, it looks like a bundle is en route to Europe.
Aside from the simply stunning box art, the bundle seems to comprise of an 80 GB SKU, a Dualshock 3 and of course a copy of Killzone 2, most likely to be released in February with the game itself. Whilst we still wait for an official announcement from Sony with confirmation and a price, the possibility of Guerrilla’s FPS being a system seller for the PS3, makes a bundle seems an obvious and sensible choice.
Kudos to GamerRiley our Killzone 2 fanatic for the heads up.

I honestly expect a price drop in February or March. If they were planning one, making it affective on Killzone 2 release date would be a stroke of genius. Money now please Sony :)

I know. There is one expected soon.
Releasing it along with Killzone would be the best decision Sony has made in a while.
Or if they released that special Resident Evil one over here with the price drop as an extra incentive for people buying a console for the game to choose the PS3.

Seriously, I have a suspicion we might be in for a £50 price drop too but I think it might come a month after Killzone 2 has sold all the consoles it’s going to so they maximize their revenue from the blockbuster title of Q1 and then drop the price to shift some stock over the traditionally quieter periods of Q2 and Q3. That way they make extra money from title sales in Q4 because of their increased user base and it offsets the price drop.

That’s also a good point. Damn I thought I’d found a winner there.
Do you think they would sell more consoles if they lowered the price, say a month after it’s release, or a on the release date of Killzone 2?

I would do it on the release date.
That way you’ll catch the wave of hype that comes with a release.
