BAFTA Nominations
It looks like Slumdog of Duty 4 and Grand Theft Benjamin Button are the safe bets. Not much for Dark Knight Solid.
It looks like Slumdog of Duty 4 and Grand Theft Benjamin Button are the safe bets. Not much for Dark Knight Solid.

Gamesindustry has the full list of BAFTA nominations up but just to let you know, it looks like CoD4 and GTAIV have the lion’s share of nominations, with LittleBigPlanet making a few appearances too.
Strangely, Metal Gear Solid isn’t nominated for much of note, only original score and artistic achievement. Also in the weird box is the fact that Fallout 3 has been nominated for so much, in spite of being released before it was finished.
Go to Gamesindustry for the full list but here is the big one, Game Award of 2008:

Yes, but it was just after the last VG BAFTAs so it qualifies. There is no end to the mental-ness of some people/organisations.

How is that possible? Surely then the BAFTAs aren’t annual? Otherwise there would have been one in 2008 for 2007?

Yes but if you remove the consideration of the broken aspect as they obviously have for Fallout 3 then Far Cry 2 is a great game and might possibly deserve to be in the nominations.

This is unbelievable, how can MGS4 not be up for game of the year
OK, LBP and COD4 deserve to be there but if your not gonna vote MGS4 in there then next time it rains someone should throw a brick at them

I’m sick of Fallout 3 getting such high praise. I’ve played a bit of it and I can’t stand how it plays. The VATS thing is cool but you might as well ignore the fact that its an FPS if your going to use it. For me it was the cheapness of the movement. It felt like the most basic programming was used. I felt the same with Oblivion.
I know open worlds are very hard to do on a scale of that size but when moving around them is such a tacky affair I’d rather not spend hours upon hours in it.

Do you mean this BAFTA website:
http://www.bafta.org/awards/video-games/nominations,664,BA.html
where they reaffirm exactly what I said?
Did you even read the story?

I trust the results will be posted here, when the event has taken place?
There should be a good few awards in there for LBP.
COD4 has had enough awards in my opinion

Is Wii fit that great? I’ll cancel my membership to the gym if so! It costs me more then a Wii an year!

No, it’s funny to watch and it can help to build on your core stability but it is almost impossible to “get fit” using it and it won’t build much muscle either.
That’s the first and last Wii review you’ll get out of me on TSA.
