Region Free Comes To PS3

According to the official forums, the latest SingStar update (due out today) includes a few rather cool little features.

Firstly, you can now quit the game when using a PS2 disk, and also when using one of the ABBA wallpapers (with a different disk in) and the PS2 disk swap now works with a couple of the more esoteric versions, like the special Sweden edition.

All fine, but the best thing about the update: you can now use PS2 disks from other regions.  That is, you can apparently now use any PS2 SingStar disk – American ones for starters – in your UK PlayStation 3.  If this feature can be unlocked for SingStar, surely it can be unlocked for all PS2 games, right?  Do it, SCEE.
