PSP 2 – No UMD Drive?

47David Perry used to work on Gamesmaster and founded Shiny. He also knows something about the PSP 2 that nobody else seems to: it’s coming, and there’s no UMD drive. According to a tweet from him yesterday, “Sony FINALLY has the PSP 2.” He goes on: “And thank goodness, they’ve removed the stupid battery-sucking UMD disc drive. I’m excited!”
We’ve heard lots of PSP 2 related rumours recently, but this is the first from a developer, so hopes are high for this to actually turn out to be true. In the meantime, why not bag yourself a pink one and get ready for all the great PSP games we listed yesterday that are coming soon?
