For me it seemed ages ago that Disney’s Black Rock Studios teased us with a very short and slightly blurry trailer of a new unnamed title. Well the title has a name – Split/Second, and intriguingly a longer teaser trailer.
Intriguing, because the gameplay hinted at, seems give more than a respectful nod in the direction of titles like Burnout Paradise & GRID but with added explosions. They originaly promised us more details on March 11th, but like Christmas, March 11th seems to arrive sooner and sooner with each passing year.
This new footage seems to show you controlling destructable environments, being able to bring things like cranes and bridges, crashing down on your rivals, blowing up gas stations etc… wiping them out in the process, missing your vehicle by a mere split second, do you see what they’ve done there? Everything seems to take place under the glare of TV cameras, Running Man style.
For now, the web address for the game splitsecondvideogame.com simply redirects to Disney’s homepage, but if this new footage is anything to go by it’s well worth keeping an eye on.
Want to see for yourself? well feast your eyes on this, hit the HQ button to view in glorious high quality.

That looks like it has a lot of potential… if they’ve done it right.
The concept has actually got me quite excited

No.. I’ll think I will stick to Gran Turismo.. Don’t like other racers trying to kill me.

I’m hoping the cameras being shown there will mean that we can place our own cameras afterwards to create our own films! That was the best thing about Driv3r.

I’m impressed, that looks like it’d be a whole lot of fun, if they put offline multiplayer in, I’d say it could be set to beat burnout!

That was great! Burnout’ll take some beating but, could this be it? Looks pretty cool.

Given that Black Rock’s franchise director is Paul Glancey (ex Criterion) this is sounds promising… Maybe it will be the next gen Burnout that Revenge fans wanted Paradise to be?

Yeh it does look good but will it really ever beat Burnout. I think u cant compare it coz its not the same type of game. Is it an open map game or just a pure racing game?

I think I’ll wait until more information surfaces before pondering if it is likely to be better than Burnout Paradise.

It looks like a mix of GRID and Stuntman. With an action-packed precise gameplay, it could be a Burnout beater. But there’s a lot of Burnout fans who will be really hard to convince. Criterion managed to keep a lot of interest on Burnout.

The graphics look excellent on this game but the idea for the gameplay seems a bit dubious to me,im thinking all graphics and no lasting gameplay. It will not be a burnout beater totally different genre, burnout is on it’s own nothing comes close, it has the graphics and gameplay a total allrounder. Poor pretender Midnight club tried to take burnouts no.1 spot but failed miserably as will this new game

COOL!:) This is more like it, it’s the new Road Blaster’s with a twist of zesty lemon’n lime! It’s what Sega’s FULL AUTO series wanted to be but failed quite miserably! Can’t wait for this!
