Warhawk Director Leaves Incognito

Jobe leaves. We are sad. Jobe gets another job. We are happy. Jobe signs a deal. We are smug.

It’s no secret that we love Warhawk here at TSA Towers. It’s a testament to Incognito’s skill that this title is still loved by so many a year a half after it’s release. Today we hear news that the director of Incognito, Dylan Jobe,  has decided to leave Incognito and start up a new studio, LightBox Interactive.

Using his previous experience at Incognito, Jobe will continue his relationship with Sony signing a exclusive PS3 deal to last a number of years. Hopefully, with Dylan’s excellent experience in online gaming through Warhawk and Twisted Metal Black, we could be seeing something in a similar vein.

Good luck to you Jobe, all the best in your new endeavors. Now where’s my Warhawk 2 Incognito?

  1. Warhawk 2 FTW.

  2. Good luck in your new job Jobe…

  3. That explains why he twittered that today was going to be a big day!

  4. I hope he makes a game similar to Warhawk except with better graphics, better customisations, same ranking up system but not insane amount of points needed.

    • Yep, true, mind you if it were less points we’d all be Generals after a week and the ability filtering on games would be pointless!

  5. On a vaguely related subject:
Is there still going to be a price cut for Warhawk?

    • They’ll probably time one to coincide with the Warhawk space making it to the EU Home.

  6. Have you seen there website! http://www.lightboxinteractive.com/ i came in my pants it is so pretty/well designed.

    • I like it, Clean and simple.
Easy to do in flash though.

  7. anyone ever play ‘war of the monsters’? it had input by jobe and jaffe i think…

  8. I can’t believe this.

I’ve followed Jobe’s tweets like a hawk since one of you lot got me addicted to Twitter.
I eat, sleep & shit Warhawk and I was out at a meeting when this breaks!

I know Dylan’s working on something because he’s in and out of presentation & meeting all the time, I was hoping it would WarHawk 2.

I’m not sure who owns the IP to Warhawk, but if it is Incognito Entertainement Inc, then does this cast a shadow on the ability to churn out a sequel?

    I am now officially worried.

    Good luck

    • Actually Warhawk is plastered all over this site, so hopefully a sequel shouldn’t be too much problem

      • Although on their front page it says Trademarks are the copyright of their respective owners…

    • According to the smallprint at the bottom of http://www.us.playstation.com/Warhawk/

Warhawk is a trademark of SCEA, so I guess they can get whoever they want to develop games in the Warhawk franchise, be it Incognito (if it still exists) or Lightbox, or anyone else…

  9. I don’t know if you guys have seen it but there is a rumor about the next warhawk, and how it’s set in space. Link below.

    • Fuck yeah, that’s more like it! Banging news Kevling!

I am absolutely hanging out for a decent space flight combat sim (well, Elite is fave all time game) so until Braben finally lays The Outsider to rest & starts on Elite 4, then bring it on!

  10. Sorry, I meant samba987, got over-excited there.
