Firmware 2.70 On Thursday?

96If you’re still wondering when PS3 Firmware Update 2.70 is going to land, wonder no more, because Paddy, administrator at Gamezbox.ie (you couldn’t make this up) has apparently spoken to someone at SCEE and got a ‘confirmed’ answer: it’s this Thursday, the 2nd of April.
“Hi Wayne,” says the Sony rep in an email, presumably speaking to someone else. “I’ve just had confirmation that this update will be released on April 2nd – official release and screenshots are due on Monday.” Monday? The Monday just gone? I don’t remember getting a press release on 2.70?
Our advice? Take this particular ‘confirmation’ with a pinch of salt.
