The eagle eye amongst you may have noticed a new PSN title called Gomibako appearing on our Trophy lists a while ago, it has been confirmed today that Gomibako will be seeing a western release under a new moniker ‘Trash Panic’. The game challenges players to sort rubbish in to a waste bin trash can, Tetris style. Featuring all sorts of ways to keep the level of the trash down in your container, from dropping heavy objects to compact it down, to placing bio-degradable items next to each other so that they rot away.

It is no coincidence that SCEE have chosen today to announce the game as today is Earth Day, a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the environment. Stateside Sony have also announced that they will donate $1 for each purchase made on the PlayStation Store & Video Store today, so if you live in the States, and have been wondering whether to make a purchase or not, today will be a good day to do it.

Trash Panic will be released later this Spring, in the meantime have a look at this trailer.
