TSA Memes: The Thumb

So, If you’re only a casual visitor to TSA you might want to look away now. This is community indulgence, pure and simple. You might call it fan service but I tend to think of TSA as a fan of our community rather than our community being fans of TSA. So I suppose it was fan service because I’ve been laughing for days about this feature.

Some backstory for the less attentive…

At some, long-forgotten, point back in the misty days there was a casual, throw-away remark made by our most active member about the difference in size of his two thumbs. This was back in the days when TSA was a small band of brothers who would sit around the warming glow of a computer monitor and laugh at their own jokes.

After some vague clarification it transpired that one of the poor sap’s thumbs was a giant beast of a digit whereas the other was a mere slip of a thing. I decided that this was reason enough to mercilessly mock Hodgi92 and imbue his freakishly large hand-appendage with it’s own personality. The joke stuck (after some perseverence) mostly due to Hodgi92′s wonderful ability to not take offence.

So there’s the backstory. Now, imagine my surprise when, after appealing for entrants to our “Photo of the Week” feature I started getting digital postcards from The Thumb. It seems that he is quite the traveller, and also quite fond of playing dress up. My heart goes out to Hodgi92 though, he appears to have been left at home while The Thumb has a whale of a time travelling the globe.
