It seems like only yesterday when we revealed that Uncharted 2 was going to get a multiplayer section, but here we are with the first screenshots and details. It appears that multiplayer co-op will be 3 players, not 2, which is a neat twist, and will run alongside the single player campaign but offer a different story and fresh levels. There will be sections in the game that only work with 2 or 3 players, a la LittleBigPlanet (and Lost Vikings, huh?). There will be mini-bosses, and downed players will automatically revive after a few seconds if other players remain in the game.
The deathmatch mode, also shown in the screens below, will be comprised of 4 vs 4 game modes, with the players selected from two skills before each game, loosely defining a class-based system. Exploring in the deathmatch mode will reveal the strongest weapons. Another mode playable will be Capture The Treasure, which, obviously, will work much like Capture The Flag games do with each team trying to steal treasures from the enemy base. Uncharted 2 is shaping up to be a fantastic looking game, and if you want to get your hands on an early beta you know what to do.

Guys.. If you haven’t already, go and look at the trailer on the us playstation blog. My mouth was open for the duration on the trailer! It looks REALLY good! If the co-op is anything like resident evil 5 i’ll be very happy.

Won’t be touching the online no matter how good it looks. Some games just aren’t meant for multiplayer, and this is one of them IMO

Some people are strange. Why would you dismiss it so exclusively?

I know you get an awesome developer, awesome game, you get an added on extra online just for you then your not gonna touch it . It won’t ruin anything apart from the post you just made.

Personally, I would agree with people who say co-op is fine so long as it doesn’t ruin the single player experience. For me, Resi5 with forced co-op ruined the single player experience; the dynamic/mood/feel of the game, which is a major part of the game, and in my opinion is a major part of UC. That’s my two cents. Mind you, I haven’t seen the trailer, so that might turn my head
