I have a feeling these will be all over the internet in about 20 minutes, but as a sneaky heads up, here’s what some Chinese folk think the slim PS3 will look like. My Chinese is worse than my English, so I’ve no idea if these shots have already been debunked (the forum thread is 10 pages long) but regardless, if it’s a fake it’s a good one.
And yes, Sony has already said that they’re not planning on a PS3 redesign, but this wouldn’t be the first time that something appeared out of thin air at E3. There’s certainly room for the Blu-ray, the USB ports are around the back and the fan would have to be squished in somewhere, but heh, if it keeps the kids off the street…

That is so fake. I’m sorry, but why would Sony all of a sudden start making ugly products? The logo is VERY amateur, the design of the unit itself is hideous, and yeah the box does look like a real box, but am incredibly weak designed real box. This isn’t real. If it is, I’d completely lose all respect for Sony.
Doesn’t the logo make anybody else sick? Why would they change a product’s logo 2 years in, when their current one is fantastic? Think about it.

Totally agree, Sony, don’t make products this ugly, plus they like shiny shiny, just think of one rescent Sony device that hasnt been shiny.
Plus, why would they re-do the PS3 text (logo – if you can call it that), especially if it looks like that.
Another thing, there’s no PlayStation Family logo so indeed, you have been caught out by a fake.

It could save money or the shiny surface attracts dust, matte doesnt as much and it looks cleaner, but still i dont actually like the design of it. UGLY

Being an optimistic person I’m hopeful, remember the PSone, the fonts used and everything was different to the PlayStation, and inside that they would fit all the necessary components and have an external power adaptor, like the PStwo and PSone.

But the redesigned PSone logo was nice to look at. That PS3 logo just follows the same guidelines as all those other fake PS3 images, using the same text design as the PS2. Sony wouldn’t do that.

It just looks like a horribly cheap flattened version of the beautiful and sleek original.
Ugh. Awful.
I know sleek and shiny makes fingerprints, but black plastic is very last gen and unappealing.

Ok, fake. Mainly because of the above but, if you look at the image of the PS3 on the box, and the ‘actual console’ there is a difference. There is no ’shelf area’ where the touch buttons currently are, on the console, but there are on the box picture.
Also, about the typeface, didn’t the PS (1) change font when it became the PSOne

doesnt look as good as the one atm. I want a big console that looks chunky and powerful, not some slim pencil. It would have to have extra stuff for me to like it.
