Ubisoft may be getting a bit ahead of themselves but DLC is DLC. They have recently announced extra content for Assassin’s Creed 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction and James Cameron’s Avatar. All three are expected to be released in December and the DLC will follow tout suite. No news on pricing but we have seven months to clear that up.

Now this is the first I have heard of Avatar but I am very excited for Assassin’s Creed 2 and Splinter Cell. Kudos to Ubi for being so well prepared but if the DLC will be released around the same time as the game shouldn’t it be on the disc? Discuss in the comments and we’ll sit back and have a cup of tea.  Stay tuned for pricings and exact dates.

  1. Sounds like a disc unlock to me. Coming out so close to the games release, it better not cost much.

    • do they still do disc unlocks? they aren’t very fair are they. its like selling you a cake and restricting the last slice… thats worse actually… cake :)

  2. You maybe excited about Splinter Cell DLC, but I was watching Bonus Round on GameTrailers.com and they mentioned that it was going to be and Xbox exclusive. Not the dlc, the actual game!

  3. I’ve just found evidence Ubisoft are working on games for the PS4 :) Win for me :D

    • where?

      • its ok just found a few things on that

      • View my snatch :D

  4. So basically Ubisoft are saying they are already planning to rip us off?
    Damn them.
Only one that interests me is Assassin’s Creed anyway.

  5. Just becausethe dlc launches at the same time as the game doesn’t mean it’s an unlock – there’s the period of time between the disc going gold, then off for manufacture and distribution, where the dlc can be fnished tested and published…

  6. DLC should be DLC because they want to keep the game fresh after it’s been released. To pre-plan DLC suggests that the material has been kicking around in development with the game. To not include it in the final product is just money-grabbing.

  7. It’s the Resi 5 Versus Pack controversy all over again…

  8. I thought Splinter Cell is a 360 exclusive?

  9. /gets on knees

    /wanders to the forums

I entirely agree with this DLC business everyone is getting into… they should do it for a cheaper price so more people are likely to get it… the usual sell for less to sell more rather than sell for lots to sell little… that way hopefully companies will earn the same amount(possibly more) but will have far happier customers/ end users so more likely to buy future games!
