Red Faction Competition: Selected Entries

Last Wednesday we announced there will be a trip to Mars where a handful of members will be selected to fight to the death. The response has been a little disappointing, and it would seem Mars isn’t the 2009 holiday destination we thought it would be.

With a maximum of ten spaces free on the tour bus, it would have been down to names in a hat and a sprinkling of luck to determine who would be swinging their sledgehammers in the highly destructible arenas of death. It turns out that the “luck” sprinkler system was sabotaged and only five applications made it into the hat. TSA law enforcement officers also have reason to believe that a bridge was taken out whilst a messenger bringing a further ninety applications was unfortunate enough to be crossing it. There was very little evidence to support this, other than an engraving on a wall at the scene saying; “Matty waz ‘ere”.

When questioned by the authorities, competition creator FRUITofDOOM stated; “I disbelieve the poor turnout for the competition was down to a simple lack of interest, and I am certain many more applications would have been received should that bridge still be standing”.

Other evidence suggests members were simply holding out for the King of Killzone tournament, as the response to the opportunity for a skilled member to prove his worthiness and be crowned King has been outstanding.

Either way, it is good news for five applicants, as they are guaranteed a place for tomorrows anarchy match on the red planet. The lucky five are:
