Right, the names are in for our King of Killzone event and tournament Tuesday (the last Tuesday of the month) is approaching. We’ve had a better response than the a previous competition, but then this is open to any TSA member and not restricted to those in the UK only. I’m excited to announce that all 18 applicants are in the first tournament, and there are a few new names going up against some legendary veterans from our very own clan. Helghan, more specifically Pyrrhus Rise, shall be playing host to a manic 10 minute bodycount match where the top score will be crowned June’s King of Killzone. As stated before, friendly fire is on – so random grenades and going all trigger happy is not advised. Whilst all classes are available, I would not encourage use of a rocket launcher, as one stray rocket could take away those precious points.
I have chosen points, not kills, because I feel this is about all round skill and god-given natural talent in whatever class suits your style. You may be a crack shot with the sniper rifle, a soldier with burst fire during assault, or maybe run in with a little spray and pray. All tactics are welcome, and it will be very interesting to see who wins using what tactic. So on Tuesday the 30th of June at 8pm BST (British summer time), the following are competing to prove they are the best:
TheDeathAvenger / Person678 / Commando101st / yogh_wayne / Colinbarr66 / Gastos84 / brendancalls / pOOpInFlames / Vandix / Firewarrior706 / Snebz_The_Hunter / Matty1209 / maneoriX / LFC_Fanatic / Zuler / xzero1299-PR / amethystvenom / XDeadlyWhispersX
You are all competing for the position of TSA King of Killzone and a potential 250 TSA points, with second place netting 200 points and third place netting 150 points. You will then have the option to forfeit 100 points to secure a place in the next tournament, escaping the risk of not being selected should there be more applications next time around. All runners up will get 20 TSA points for being good sports.
There will be a password to enter the match and this will be sent to you all via email. Please be in the lobby no later than 7.55pm (BST), as not showing up forfeits any potential points. Unfortunately I shall not be participating as I will be watching and taking notes. But if I was to participate – I would use the following tactics:
Select a class I am comfortable with, but not a class that is at a disadvantage over the terrain. Pyrrhus Rise will see mid to long range fire fights, with snipers and the assault class equipped with the right tools for the job. Perhaps gaining the lead through assault and then falling back as a sniper with my sights trained on the score board as much as the distant enemies. I would certainly not be forming a squad, as I would not want anyone spawning on me and taking potential kills away, likewise with dropping spawn grenades. As a one off at the beginning I’d be tempted to spawn as an assault trooper with a grenade launcher, sprint towards the enemy launching grenades and hoping to net a good few points early on. The sabby with the single shot rifle may also make an appearance, as he can drop anyone at distance with a couple of shots. Naturally I would be aiming at the head or lower neck to secure the extra points for a headshot, meaning 4 points per kill.
No matter what tactics you choose to go with on the day, I would certainly be getting my backside to boot camps and even polishing up my aim against bots.
Get practicing people, and see you on Helghan.
