Comments on: Trophies Not Likely for MGS4

Konami has its own login process for online not through PSN. Konami does not support trophies for all their flagship games (MGS4, Silent Hill, PES2009). Konami sucks !!!!

Metal Gear Solid now on Xbox, no Trophies for PlayStation.

I was just starting to like Konami. I only own two Metal Gear Solid games and I love them both. I find it sad that we can’t get Trophies for my #1 favorite game of all time but, it won’t slip under any other game because of that… for a while anyways.

I just tried to play Halo 3 last night on a 360 and found that without a HDD or a wireless adapter, it’s really not what I expected it to be. After about 5 minutes in forge I switched back to my PlayStation.

I don’t know why I mentioned that last part but I suppose just seeing it sitting there made me think “Why?”…

It’s a shame there are no trophies but it’s not that important. I’ve been playing MGS 2 & 3 still love those games.

i dont understand why they wouldnt release trophies for it. they are highly anticipated for this game and would increase replay (re-buy).
i will never understand PS3’s marketing strategies.

oh well. my MGS4 will have to collect dust for a while longer i guess…

Shame. However, MGS4 is an excellent game and shouldn’t need trophies to get people to play through it.

I’m actually really suprised at how gutted I am about this news!

I played and completed the game last year and then sold it on. But would have bought it again to get the trophies for bragging rights.

I agree with the others who say that Konami have missed a marketing opportunity to boost sales of the platinum box. But not being a coder I have no real sense of how difficult it is to add to an already completed game. Does anyone know?

I guess Kojima doesn’t know the saying “Never late than never”.

But for some reason, i really don’t think that MGS4 trophies would look good in a trophy cabinet. It just doesn’t seem like a trophy game, but maybe the denial is finally setting in!

As I’ve said many times before, I couldn’t really give a toss about MGS4 trophies. I knew what the announcements were going to be and MGS4 trophies wasn’t one of them.

You really don’t need trophies to get the most out of MGS4.

Barely played MGS4, never bothered with online (what is the point of having to sign up for an ID). Might go back and finish it at some point, probably won’t.

rht992 is right anything were the game devs gets gmers back to play there game is always a good thing.. konami is being real dumb now because we all know for a fact that people would end up buying the platinum copy of the game thus bumping up there revenue… idiots for not releasing trophies….. yet

MGS4, Still a great game without trophies.

I guess we should know better than to expect any reasonable announcment during this “week of news”. Kojima, and the guys at Konami are the masters at building up hype for absolutely anything. Be it the (not so)cryptic message for the poor iphone game, a stupid recurring count down in a feild, (which was leading up to e3 anyway) or, a week of average news, where only one day of which is of any consequence.

There will probably be more of these build-ups/teasers come from Kojima/Konami over the next few months as we get more info on the comming games. Some of which might be good, but after this week of news, i wont be expecting anything substantial.

not really bothered either way. loved MGS4 wihtout trophies and got hours of enjoyment from it. i think thats enough.
