The TSA Killzone 2 clan offers a fantastic way to get gaming online with other TSA members where you can experience the seriousness in our tournaments and competitions, and soak up the crazy atmosphere (with a fun factor off the charts) in boot camps. Hitting our 50th win, netting 100,000 bonus valor points and being a featured clan at www.killzone.com are just some of the recent highlights in the past month. The clan has proved it has what it takes to battle against the big boys, and I believe we can go further still.

I will be honest and say that interest in any online game will dwindle after a peak period. Call of Duty 4, Halo 3 and Guerrilla Games wonderful Killzone 2 are no exceptions. However, they do continue to keep hardcore fans engaged, and many gamers will still return for a game or two every now and again.

Looking at what Killzone 2 has to offer now, and not taking into account any future DLC, there are few milestones left for our clan. Sure there is the pride and honour in a higher rank, and also the risks and reward for wagering valor. But TSA believes the clan should also be rewarded for its efforts, and unlike the United Kingdoms government, we want to look after our soldiers.

So in an attempt to keep things interesting and to reward all the time and effort the clan has and will be asked to put in, we have a few incentives.

1/ A clan member reaching 100,000 XP and becoming a Master in Chief, gets 100 TSA points.

2/ A clan member getting within the all-time top 1000 rank will get 100 TSA points.

3/ A clan member getting 50,000 kills will get 100 TSA points.

4/ A clan member getting 5000 headshots will get 100 TSA points.

On top of that is a very exciting bonus points system we are implementing. From now on and for as long as we see fit, all clan members will receive a monthly handout of TSA points determined by the following formula:

Valor / Rank / Matches lost = (?) x 10 = monthly bonus.

For example:

111331 (current valor) divided by 247 (current rank) divided by 55 (current matches lost) equals 8.195. Multiply that by 10 gives you 81.95 and round up to 82 TSA points.

So essentially the more valor you finish the month with, and the better rank the clan is, determines the bonus all members (except TSA staff) receive. But the matches lost will obviously hamper any potential earnings, and hopefully encourage the clan to develop tactics and practice in the name of loss prevention.

The clan has recently shed its dead weight and opened up twenty-five places for anyone interested. In the past month we have recruited at least five new members, and we are always on the look out for more enthusiastic members to join us as we march forwards. Boot camps are to become more regular, and you need to go here for more information on how to join the clan. Now is a very good time to join us as we are not just fighting for fun and glory, but for a potentially generous amount of TSA points too.

We acknowledge Killzone 2 is not for everyone, and would like to mention that this will not be the only title to receive the TSA community touch. We all know that the PS3 is going to be home to more truly great titles this year, and we will be looking to cater for all members and all gaming tastes.

Don’t forget we have our Motorstorm competition tomorrow (update shortly) and King of Killzone this coming Tuesday. Remember we are always open to suggestions, and any ideas for games you wish to receive the TSA touch, or just ideas in general, can be emailed to liam(at)thesixthaxis(dot)com.
