Last week the EU PlayStation Blog brought us closer to knowing for sure if MAG’s going end up on people’s shopping list with the excellent Developer Diaries from Zipper. This week they go into detail about the three choices of factions available. There’s certainly something for everyone. Unless you were hoping for a faction of ruthless mercenary ballet dancers.
I can’t help thinking after watching that for a second time, how much fun the TSA community’s going to have with this. In the end though, it’s all going to come down to how it plays. Let’s hope that beta testing pays off then. Of course there is the other problem. What faction are we going to be? TSAers, I suggest you take this outside.

3 factions? How will this work with 256 players? 85 per side with 1 referee?
Sorry if its explained in the video as I can’t view it at work.

Isn’t it something like teams of 8. Which goes into 256. 128 per team assuming there is only two sides. So 16 teams of 8 per side.

Matches won’t be three way – It will just be 2 of the factions going up against each other. It’s Endwar style, you pick a faction when you first start up multiplayer and stick with it. You can usually change it though.

That was a good diary. All the factions have a lot of appeal. The devs have obviously put a lot of thought into the factions.
Valor Raven or SVER? If I had to pick one now it would be SVER but im sure I will change my mind several times before this game comes out.
From a clan point of view SVER reminds me of TSA, the underdog going against the big guns but managing to be cooler and better at the same time.

some one mentioned a poll on the EU forums and most said they will be raven so ill be one of the lesser teams so i can allways get into a game with out waiting.

just can’t get that excited about it. It all sounds wicked, but everytime I see gameplay, it reminds me of Doom with the 2d perspective on the guns. No recoil on those guns either, looks a bit unrealistic.

These diaries are a good source of info and nice to watch. I like the S.V.E.R faction but the Technical side of RAVEN sounds best for me.
