Team17 have just let us know that they are absolutely delighted to formally confirm the return of one of their most cherished properties in ALIEN BREED EVOLUTION. The Unreal 3 powered next-gen title, part of Team17’s quality, independent digital line-up is a “drop-dead gorgeous” retro-modern remake of the game that helped Team17 burst onto the Amiga scene 18 years ago. Featuring an “action packed, tense single player adventure” and an absolute blast of a co-op game, Alien Breed Evolution helps raise the production bar on download-only titles and underlines Team17’s re-energised momentum since deciding to become an independent publisher in the digital distribution era.
What they didn’t tell us, mind, is whether or not it’s coming out on the PS3. Platforms are still to be confirmed…

Sorry for the double post, at the conference they said it would be on PS3 but I would wait for official confirmation anyway.

Looks good. I suppose it’s a bit premature for me to asking this what with us not even sure of which platforms it on, but…do we know if the game will have offline co-op? Worms is the most played game now in my house just because it’s one of the only games that offers fun with people who aren’t hundreds of miles away. I suppose with Team 17 making Worms it’s likely.

Oh and let’s hope they have a better online matchmaking system for this game. The one they use in Worms is incredibly frustrating!

Team17’s favoured rollout plan is for 360 first, then PS3 later, as we’ve already seen with Worms.
I don’t care, Alien Breed is one of my favourite games ever, and will be a day one purchase for me

Reading it used the Unreal engine I had horrible visions of this becoming another generic bald space marine FPS but I’m glad to see they’ve kept it top down. Loved this at the time, but I do wonder if the game play will maybe seem a bit old fashioned now.
It’s got to be PS3 though, after all we’re always getting told that it’s the console of the old fogeys!

Looks underwhelming to me, good graphics but the levels look very generic and there is the usual brown and grey

All right!! Aliens are in my top 5 “Things I like to kill in videogames”, along with zombies, hookers, zombie-hookers and baby seals.
Give me a couch-coop and I’m in!

This game was superb on the Amiga, very addictive, so any updated version should be awesome. I will buy this on release day for sure.
