Man, the internet is a total shit hole today. Apparently (and we say apparently quite strongly) a certain Dylan Jobe has left a message over on the EU forums. “I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the postings and predictions of morgothemighty are indeed true – the Warhawk servers as you know them will be shutting down in approximately 3 months time.”
“With the advent of our latest project, servers will need to be freed up to allow us to offer the same fantastic service you have known and loved from warhawk. I can’t say too much now, but you will be blown away by what is in store for the lover of online only, multi vehicular, multiplayer gaming.”
We’re chasing this up right now, but rest assured we here at TSA think this is absolute nonsense. Let’s hope the person in question, who we assumed to be a certain “MorgoTheMighty” finds himself with a rather nasty suspension from the EU forums. Unless it is Dylan Jobe, of course, in which case I’ll run through Glasgow naked shouting “I’m a nancy boy and I’m all right” at 3 in the morning.
Update: Glasgow is safe, Dylan has told us “that post is fake and not me. I’ve informed the team in London. All the servers are not going away.” Phew.

What could that mean?

I hope this is untrue because I love Warhawk. I am excited for the “new project” though.

I would have expected news like this to come in a somewhat more official way to be honest. Also if they are closing servers for starhawk, does that mean its near completion already? Just doesn’t make sense to me.. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

That would be a bit fail if they did that.

Me to, I’ll bring a camcorder lol.
As for the servers closing it would be a real shame for such a great game which I still have not played. I think the servers would be cut but not shut down completely, I hope.

I call bullshit, usually the servers go down after the next game iteration gets released.
And anyway, if developers have something t say/announce, they’ll post it on the blog for all to see, not the forum, where 10% (guess) of visitors look.

Yes, exactly. I would have at least expected to see it on the in-game announcements..

This simply cannot be true. anyway, if they shut down the official servers would you still be able to host your own games? or is warhawk gonna become a completely usless piece of software sat on my hdd?
and what about all the people that have been playing it since launch and still dont have their platinum? will they be compensated with a massive xp boost on the last days?
so many questions. pretty sure no-one has the answers.
this is poo. please say it isn’t so…

That’s a good point, it’ll just be a light with unofficial servers (when the Official server’s come down after an official announcement). Means we can still get some retro Warhawk Action.

That sucks. So i will have paid for a game on my Hard Drive, but won’t be able to play it as the game is multiplayer only. Ridiculous!

They won’t shut them down – if they did, nobody would buy their new game because they’d know it’d only be playable until they released the next one and shut down the servers again.

Surely it will only be the official servers that will close if this is true. Would that mean that we could still host our own Warhawk games?

Shouldn’t your “threat” be something that would make you stand out? Sounds like another Monday morning in Glasgow to me.

I’ve not played it for a while but surely if there are still people playing the game you can’t just shut it down, especially as it is only multiplayer. I definatley wouldn’t like the idea of a game that ive payed for just sitting on my hdd unplayable. Hope it turns out to be just rumour.

I’m not to far from Glasgow so if it is true than I shall force Nofi to do it (and intervene to save him from a fatal kicking once he does do it).

I assume you’ll be shouting that to the tune of “I’m a lumberjack and I’m OK?”.
