We’re big fans of Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists Of Plastic here at TheSixthAxis, so much so that the game is featured in the latest of our Challenge TSA series, where we invite you, the site’s users to take the TSA staff on at a game.
In addition to the arrival of Fat Princess in this week’s PSN Store update we also have confirmation that Rag Doll Kung Fu will be receiving the DLC treatment, in the form of the time savers pack. “This pack immediately unlocks all the extra playable characters and costumes in the game, including Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet and a range of other crazy costumes including a Frog and even a lobster.”
I remember the launch trailer which featured Sackboy, but by the time the game came out it completely slipped my mind that he would be making an appearance. Since then my RDKF skills haven’t been up to scratch to unlock much more than a wig or two. It will cost just £1.19/€1.99, which for me at least will be easier than battling through the game attempting to unlock it free of charge.
Usually the case with DLC is that it is region locked to the same territory in which the title was originally downloaded from, in the absence of any evidence to contrary it will probably be safe to assume that this is the case here.

Meh…costumes.
Bring on the online multiplayer patch. I haven’t played this game since the day I bought it (release day) when I mistakenly thought it had online multiplayer.

Yeah, way after release – not at launch.

It was only free for a week or so wasn’t it.
Anyone who got the US version will find that they will have to get DLC from the same region

For anyone not realizing – This is a unlock time saver pack, all these things including the sackboy outfit can be unlocked with time and effort.

And skill, don’t forget that crucial (and for me, sadly lacking) element

I have one part of the sackboy costume but only managed to get ‘plastic’ on one of the challenges, never gonna get it for free then as i can’t even get gold on a couple of them. hopefully there’ll be more RDKF dl coming too, like maybe more game modes or online play… here’s hoping

You can get it for free on the US store. Well you could, dunno if that’s finished now.
Problem being as pointed out by cc, I will now have to buy this DLC from the US store too. Damn it.
By the way, I would wait for the inevitable online multi player patch before spending on this…at least i hope its inevitable!

They should have made it clearer Sackboy was actually in to game to begin with. I was unaware of this… now that I know, I may be tempted to play it again.

Picked this up for free on the US store; well worth it. It actually gives me something other than fifa and motorstorm to play when friends come round – I really don’t care for online multiplayer.

Please note my hint in the post for anyone has a copy from a different region:
“Usually the case with DLC is that it is region locked to the same territory in which the title was originally downloaded from, in the absence of any evidence to contrary it will probably be safe to assume that this is the case here.”

Thank you for the pointer which I noticed in the article. I’ll wait for proof to the contrary before trying it out myself.

anyone agree that LBP costumes have gone a little too far? HAS THE LINE BEEN CROSSED?

Technically this is not the same thing, this isn’t a costume for LBP it’s sackboy on RDKF. And technically you don’t have to pay for it…only if you’re crap at the game like me.

LBP costumes coming out every single week, when they exist purely to promote something, and therefore there is an argument they should be free – Yes.
RDKF – Extra characters, for those who are to poor at the game to unlock them – No, bring it on I can’t wait

damn right, I suck big time, I can’t even get Silver on most of the game modes…as long as this isn’t stupidly priced I will get it

I think time-saver DLC is a good idea as long as they don’t release it for a few months (like this one).
Criterion did the same thing with Burnout after about a year, with a DLC that unlocked all the cars in the game. Great idea as people who bought it much later in its lifecycle would find that they just couldn’t compete online until they hammered single player first to get a decent car.

I hate this type of “DLC”. Why should I have to pay money to cheat? They should release it for free but make you pay a different way, like being labelled a cheater everytime you play the game lol
EA are the worst for this (obviously). A lot of their racing games charge you like £5 to unlock everything. That’s ridiculous. Now I know I don’t *have* to buy it (and I don’t), but to me it feels like a right rip off. I imagine a lot of people buy this type of DLC and basically these developers get a handful of money for releasing what’s probably only a couple of kilobytes.
/Rant lol
