nDreams, the team behind the ‘Xi‘ Alternate Reality Game (ARG) that played in Home early this year have revealed that they’re working on a number of Home spaces coming “very soon”. This follows news that the company’s second ARG will not be based within PlayStation Home, but instead they “expect it to be one of the biggest ARGs in the world next year”, which could place the ARG outside of the games console genre.

Earlier in July, we reported that nDreams were working on new developments for PlayStation Home, and that the spaces should be ready soon. A new post on the nDreams site confirms that there are a number of Home projects coming very soon. If that is to be believed, then it’s likely that the updates will fall either on the 13th or 27th August, as additions to Home are now made on a fortnightly basis.

nDreams is working on plenty of fun projects for Home – new spaces and apartments and games that I know you’re going to enjoy. They’ll be going live very soon and we’ll continue to produce new content for Home for the foreseeable future.

Looking back at the spaces developed by nDreams for Xi, we can expect that these new spaces will explore Home’s interactive potential, and possibly encourage users to return multiple times after the spaces are launched. With apartments also mentioned, could it be possible that we could see some interactive personal spaces? Perhaps we’ll be able to download the night version of the Summer House, as used in the ‘Party at Jess’ Apartment’ during the Xi ARG.

Whatever the team are working on, they now have a good reputation to live up to, and as the provider of the most entertaining spaces in Home so far, the idea of new nDreams spaces on the not-so-distant horizon should be getting PS3 users itching to reinstall the virtual online world if they haven’t already.
