23Sony have confirmed to GI.biz that the UK pricing of the PSPgo when it is released on 1st October will be £224.99. The US and Europe paying exactly the same as they did at the PSPs original launch in 2005, $249 and €249 respectively.
It is just the UK paying a higher price at launch for the PSPgo as the original PSP cost £179 when we first got our hands on it. Much of the blame for the rise will be put on the weakness of the pound on international money markets but it will be interesting to see if the pound continues to strengthen as it has been doing recently whether the price will be dropped.
Those who snagged a pre-order price of just £180 when GAME made a mistake with their listing, that they have said they will honour, have indeed got themselves a bargain.
