The big push for Sony’s new svelter PS3 model gets even more enticing as more of the systems most popular games get a sweeter price just in time for the Slim’s release. It seem like Sony have gotten themselves in a prime position for this holiday.
Joining the ranks at £19.99 are some first party crackers. How does MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 sound? All heavy hitters, all well worth the cash. Game are still keeping silent, possibly to make you buy it at the usual price but the lovely ShopTo have them ready and waiting for pre-order now.
Yes, I know you might be able to get them cheaper already, but it’s good to see Sony putting this kind of weight behind the console. If you haven’t already got these crackers, shame on you. Now, rectify!

Yeah thats what I thought..
Though it hasn’t been out too long, I’d say it should be put in the Platinum range Q1 2010

LittleBigPlanet is already like £10-15 though…so does that mean the Platinum version will be more expensive than the current version? lol
Good news nonetheless.

Often happens with older discounted games,
I got uncharted for £17.99 when the Trophies were relased and the platinum edition came out for £19.99, and MGS4 was generally £14.99 when that platinumed as well.

Yeah, it’s basically a fresh bout of advertising for a game to try and get another injection of cash.
Since it’s then on the “budget” range, all the people that haven’t really been paying attention will see it and buy it when compared to newer games’ newer inflated prices.
Course, there’s nothing to stop these Platinum games from being discounted too. £19.99 is just an RRP.

great news. Good old Sony bringing out the big guns at the moment. Might have to get R2. Looks like a good game.

if you have killzone 2 i would skip it. R2 is a mediocre let down only by being pushed for a Christmas 08 release. the 8 player co-op idea is interesting but isn’t amazing and the single player is frustrating most of the time.
if you don’t have killzone 2 i would tell you to grab that over resistance 2

I agree that Killzone 2 (My favorite FPS) is better than Resistance 2, however I have both and play both. Resistance 2 is a very enjoyable experience aswell (Come on fighting the leviathan was pretty cool guys
and if you can afford it I would give that a go aswell.

cheers guys. I have KZ2 and sort of got bored of it about 2 months ago. Been on BF1943 and Fat Princess which is pretty decent. Fancy something new. Was in the Beta for R2 and thought it was average, if it’s not any better I wont bother.

also, multiple threads on their forums regarding similar incidents have been deleted, i doubt this comment will be approved because of the TSA/shopto partnership but hey

I think having LBP as a platinum and a game of the year edition isnt a great plan. it should be one or the other as it may cause some more casual gamers some confusion as which is better for their cash

BFBC is cheap enough where it doesnt need to be platinum.
