Up until now DSiWare has just been fluffy minigames and sections of full retail games designed to make you want to buy the full thing, but now Sony have stepped up with the PSP Minis and the current line-up is already above and beyond anything on Nintendo’s portable console, with key players like Namco and EA in the mix.

There’s still no concrete list of what will make it out for the launch of the PSP Minis service (on October 1st) but IGN have managed to piece together a list of potentials from various screenshots and teaser movies, and there’s some quality stuff in there with popular PlayStation names like Burn, Zombie Burn! getting a Mini version alongside XBLA hits like Pac-Man Championship Edition and iPhone favourite FieldRunners.

  • Alien Havoc
  • Aqua Panic: Oasis
  • Arcade Air Hockey & Bowling (Icon Games)
  • Arcade Darts
  • Arcade Pool
  • AstroTripper
  • Brainpipe
  • BreakQuest
  • Bubble Trubble
  • Burn, Zombie, Burn! 2D
  • Championship Manager Minis
  • Circles
  • D-Cube Planet
  • Fieldrunners
  • Flexis
  • FMX
  • Funky Punch
  • Hero of Sparta
  • Kahoots
  • Laser Ride
  • Little Mason
  • Little Track
  • Melody Bloxx
  • Minigore
  • Mighty Empires: The Great Mughals
  • Overkill Apache
  • Pac-Man Championship Edition
  • Pinball Dreaming: Dreams
  • Puzzlescape
  • Resurrection
  • Stunt Cars
  • Sudoku
  • Tetris (EA)
  • Vempire
  • YetiSports
  • Zombie Tycoon

Some great stuff there, we’re sure you’ll agree, although we stress that many of these might well just be in concept stages but some may be pretty much done and dusted. We’ll be keeping a good eye on the PSP Minis rollout as and when we get the information in, let’s hope Sony are courting plenty of developers and have a decent range of titles to run alongside the PSPgo when it finally hits store shelves.

Thanks, IGN.
