andriasang’s blog is immensely useful for those of us who don’t have a full grasp on the Japanese language. Today on the blog there is a report of the interview given by producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama to Dengeki Online. In the interview they state that the PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIII (which is the lead platform in development) is over ninety percent finished, Kitase stated that they’ve “entered the, what one calls, final adjustment phase”.

Also in the interview Kitase responded to a question about the game being playable at the Tokyo Game Show by saying “As we’re aiming for a winter release, in order to get players to play the game, TGS is our only hope, so we’d like to aim for that”. Which not only implies that they are hoping to get their almost finished game playable in Tokyo in MONTH but also that they are trying to get it out the door this winter. Presumably in time for the big Western game-buying phase of December or the big Eastern game-buying phase of March.
