Like a never ending relay race the baton is handed over to another, and it falls to me to lead TheSixthAxis community on its continual journey to gaming nirvana. Before I share some thoughts on the future though, I’d just like to spend a moment paying tribute to Liam and the amount of work he did in growing the community side of TSA, and I echo Alex’s comment that “Liam was instrumental in taking TSA’s community to the level it’s at now, spending lots of his time organising events and distributing points, with enormous enthusiasm. We’ll miss having him around.”
Stepping into such giant shoes is a bit daunting but does have its upsides as we’re starting from such a strong position, and it’s from this position that I look to the future about how we can further enhance the community proposition at TheSixthAxis – I’m not going to go in to specifics in this first post because I have so many ideas I need to step back and think about how workable some of them will be, but my mission as Community Manager will be ‘Action, and lots of it!’
One key area we need to do need some work on is our events calendar and it’s my aim to ensure that there is generally something both formal and casual going on practically every day, whether it’s jamming out on GH/RB, getting down to some Buzz!, a kick around in FIFA, having a meet up in Home, being killed (lots) in Warhawk and of course the world famous TSA Killzone 2 clan. We also have Uncharted 2, Operation Flashpoint 2, Ratchet & Clank and Modern Warfare 2 amongst many other exciting releases bearing down on us at a rate of knots which will all feel a bit of TSA lovin’.
My first Sunday Thoughts as manager of the amazing TSA community isn’t going to be a long rambling affair because quite frankly I’m not interested in what I’ve got to say, what I really want to hear about is from you – the community. I’d appreciate as many site visitors and members of TSA as possible leaving comments below about what you’d like to see from the community side of TSA – treat it like a suggestions box if you will. This is your chance to shape the future of TheSixthAxis community. Why? Well it wouldn’t be much of community if the community wasn’t a part of the changes that are happening. Obviously I can’t promise that all suggestions will make the final cut but everything sensible will be considered, and if it’s not sensible then… we all like a good laugh.
So, over to you – what community action or features would you like to see?
