Scolar Visari, 2359:

“My people… Sons and daughters of Helghan. This much I vow. The history of these days will be written in blood. By crushing the armies of our enemy, by seizing the weapons they thought to turn against us, we were fighting for our very existence. But if there are those who would deny us peace; refuse us our rightful place in the universe, then we will unleash such terrible vengeance that generations yet unborn will cry out in anguish![...]The enemy may shatter our bodies, but they cannot break our spirit. Even now they advance on our home world, to seize by force what they cannot claim by right. They cannot imagine what awaits them. WE WILL SMITE THE INVADERS FROM OUR SKIES! Though they sweep over our lands like the sands of winter; never again will we bow before them; never again endure their oppression; never again endure their tyranny. We will strike without warning and without mercy; fighting as one hand, one heart, one soul. We will shatter their dreams and haunt their nightmares, drenching our ancestors’ graves with their blood. And as our last breath tears at their lungs; as we rise again from the ruins of our cities… they will know, Helghan belongs to the Helghast.

Scolar Visari may be inspirational but he has nothing on the team members of TheSixthAxis world famous Killzone 2 clan. As Community Manager for TSA I’m really keen for the momentum with the clan to continue, and if I’m honest even improve a little, and by this I mean making it even more accessible to visitors of TSA, which could lead to some fresh blood in the clan etc…

The fine details as to how we manage this will become clear over the coming days but in the mean time it is critical that we don’t lose momentum of all the good work done in the past surrounding the TSA Clan; right from the clans inception by Alex and Michael, the setting up of the clan by Davs and myself, and obviously the enormity of Liam’s fantastic achievements which he couldn’t have done without the help, support and contributions from every single person who’s has ever taken part in any events, and of course especially the regulars which make up the clan.

Whilst it’s not ideal to lose a team member, the important thing to remember is that the team is bigger than any individual and as always the show will go on.

The first part of ‘the show’ going on is a TSA Boot Camp at 19:00 UK time (GMT +1), I will be using the Boot Camps as a yard stick for the communities level of interest in the title, if the interest is still there I can promise you a wealth of competitions of as high a standard as our ‘King Of Killzone’ one’s and all manner of other activity around this truly exceptional title. The frame work we lay down in the near future with this title will be replicated with other behemoths like Modern Warfare 2, Operation Flashpoint 2 and many other games of this type, I’m not stopping the action with FPS though as I’m determined that the community will go from strength to strength across all genres so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the wealth of action coming to TSA shortly.

For details of tonight’s Boot Camp check out the thread in our forum, and in the mean time if you have any ideas or features (and I do mean any) you want to be considered for TSA style community action then let us know in the Sunday Thoughts post, this really is a blank canvas and is your opportunity to get out of the TSA Community whatever it is you want.

  1. Holy shit, I was just about to post a challenge to your clan. So are you guys up for a game, 4v4 at 6:30pm BST on Saturday? 10 valor, nothing too serious. We’re just starting up again.

    • No is the short answer
Leader just left still chosing another

      • Ahh, but nonetheless you could still play us! Who needs a leader? :P

If not, I totally understand. Whenever you’re ready.

      • Hi vrc

We’re deffo up for ‘taking you guys down’ in the extremely near future but we’re just sorting out some internal stuff for tonight.

From tomorrow we will have 20/20 vision on where the future lies.

      • this iz gunna be a hell of a match = P

  2. I’ll be there tonight. Hopefully it will be a good turnout :)

  3. I’m gonna get this game when the Platinum Edition is released. I’m pretty good at FPS’ so expect to see me in these Boot Camps. :)

    • And is the ‘TSA points for each comment’ system back for good? Sorry about being a bit off-topic but I only realised just now.

      • I noticed that i stopped recieving points when i commented, i hope it is back :)

      • There will be a post about it later, but the general gist of it is that its back for a limited time

      • why only 4 a limited time? perhaps its cozza spammin = /

  4. I haven’t played Killzone in ages. If you need to, you can drop me from the clan. If not, then I’ll try to get on more. Someone else may be able to fill the space more adequately.

    • I haven’t played it in a while, a getting back to it from playing Battlefield, Killzone is totally manic, and I was rubbish when I tried last.

      • I was good enough when I first started but after only playing CoD for a while then nothing for 3 months I became terrible.

  5. Will we need all or any of the map packs?

    • No. DLC wont be included in tonights boot

  6. i wish i had kz2 to join in the match,

    • I waz gunna buy KZ2 but bought CoD instead! SHIT! What was I thinkin = (

      • Killzone can be picked up for £20 now so I would recommend buying it or even renting it first just to see whats what

  7. I should be on at some point tonight for boot camp. Hope to see you there

  8. I loved Killzone 2, but I am absolutely terrible at it in multiplayer. Only FPS title I was ever able to really manage in online is Unreal Tournament 3 sadly. Shame, as I’d love to be able to invest some time in Killzone 2 online as my mates seem to love it.

    • Come along tonight. You don’t have to be great at killzone, the boots are about having fun :)

  9. Will be there, lets get these games started!
    :D

  10. Yes! Interest has stagnated a bit in Killzone after I left for my holidays. I’m glad today’s something offical, and can’t wait to play in boot! :D I’m a bit rusty guys so go easy on me. And if you’re playing as well cc_star, you and me will be dying buddies ;)

  11. i’ll be there i only recently started playing killzone again. well i was till i got batman

    • i forgot will there be anything with uncharted if its multiplayers any good?

      • Almost every game will be featured, and we’ll make sure we cover all genres.

  12. Just re-iterate:
It’s vanilla Killzone only, ie. no special requirements or DLC needed

The title Boot Camp may sound tough but don’t be put off by that, it’s all about getting a better handle on the game and having fun killing and being killed. Keeping it as Boot Camp and not just joining an open game helps ensure there are no nobs who spawn camp etc…

Seriously join in have fun, find new skills, polish existing ones and basically just enjoy it thats what these boots are for – having fun with no nobs who often ruin the online experience for novices and experts alike.

So whether you’re relatively new or a pro everyone gets something out of the sessions.

    • Well I’ve got the ‘being killed’ part worked out, just need to get better at the ‘killing’… ;)

  13. I wish i could play with you guys but i’d be at school or sleeping when you guys are playing

    • You sleep at school? Cool…

      • Didn’t you hear? All the cool kids are doing it. :P

    • Like written about, we’re playing at 7 PM (GMT +1), which is in 20 minutes! :D

  14. I might turn up at some point, surely i cant be banned from that too. After all I am still a TSAer just not a TSANer.
Having dinner in a few minutes so might go on after that, unless SW:TFU lures me in.

    • What do you mean? You weren’t banned from anything, right?

      • No not really, was a bad choice of words.
The Clan forum i was removed from even though I know everything there is to know about all of you guys….. strengths/weaknesses etc etc

I take it Colin has somehow managed to get the officers/leaders job?
I think Snebz may have been a better choice, or wayne or vandix.

        No offence intended Colin.

      • What, so you aren’t in the clan anymore?

      • What? You didnt know?

I have left, along with a few others to form a new clan, I needed a fresh challenge after TSAN wasnt exactly going according to plan.
I was thinking about it for a while and decided to take the plunge.

I am still part of TSA though so hopefully no bad feelings from anybody, its just something i thought was best for me.

      • Yeah, didn’t know about this all until Colin told me. No hard feelings at all :)

      • What did happen to TSAN? I was away, so I don’t know what all happened….

      • Im sure that TSAN will still kick on,
Organising matches and keeping everyone happy become such a chore.
A lot of people wanted different things and i tried real hard to keep up with it all.

Im not exactly certain what happened in the end, other than interest slowly but surely dwindling and performances in clan games staying at a solid mediocre level with no signs of improvement on all fronts.

I may sound selfish and a little harsh but my feelings towards TSAN also dwindled as the weeks and months went by working my ass off for the good of you all and to see us become an even bigger force on the clan roster only to see us drop further and further, never going upwards and onwards.

This could all be down to the game becoming old and so many new titles being played but I then saw it as an opportunity to start a fresh and build something monumental in the process.

In the new clan we have some very elite players already, who knows…maybe one day TSAN may get a challenge from TLG and we could all battle it out for a small amount of valor for a bit of good old TSALG fun.

Like I say though, im still hanging around and will turn up to a boot or 2 if you will have me so its not goodbye or any of that shit, just….see you on the other side ;)

      • Of course we’ll have you (or anybody)

It is obviously impossible to keep everyone happy all the time, there is a bit of balancing needed to keep the hardcore happy whilst remaining accessible to new blood – Of course thats probably an impossible task but there’s a whole lot of fun to be had trying.

      • I think that was my problem Chris, the fun factor had run its course for me and like I said, it kind of became a chore.

I made a very brief appereance in boot, ive told this story in the boot thread anyway so wont go any further with it other than the turnout was fairly good.

This article had a lot to do with it and maybe something like this more often would keep things fresh.

I did try and do a GW article a couple of weeks ago to get fresh blood but Peter has been a very busy man recently and could only put it up today, but with the recent events taken into account it was deemed irrelevant under the circumstances.
A shame its too little too late, hopefully somebody could do something similar in the near future. Ideally the new clan leader I believe.

  15. So much going on!!! I’m on way for Boot Camp though, see you on there.
