Things are happening at quite a pace this week, so the level of organisation which has gone in to this is pretty minimal, in fact calling it minimal is an exaggeration of gargantuan proportions. Over in our stupidly popular Burnout forum there is a bit of a shindig being organised in Paradise City tonight.
Having fun online with randoms in Burnout is a bit of a frustrating experience, its very difficult to get anything done as most people seem to just mess around, soif you’re into Burnout, and you want to get some freeburning and challenges done (no messing about doing takedowns or generally being a nob), then this is the place to be. Because the nature of Burnout’s online play doesn’t lend itself to well to online mass meet ups like some other genres, the best way to get in on the action is to visit the forum and basically just join in, a little bit more than “PSN ID xyz Add Me” would be nice.
Details.
Date: Tuesday 01/09/09 (Tonight)
Time: Flexible (visit the forum for details)
Although a lot of TSA regulars have got trophies like the ‘8 Players in the Wildcat Stadium’ but I’m sure if you ask nicely the host will only be too willing to accomodate to the odd request. If you get lost – follow the others, if you wonder what you should be doing – keep an eye on the ticker at the bottom of the screen, most challenges require all players to contribute, and there is a chance players may be kicked who consistantly fail to contribute to the challenges.

I could be up for this. I’m missing 2 of the cops and robbers trophies, so if anyone can lend a hand that’d be most appreciated.

I think a useful thing to have written in he details would be what if any DLC is required.

No DLC as far as I know. Brendan is after challenges as he’s just starting out so I would think it would be normal freeburning. Head over to the forum and ask in there if you want to know for sure.

Good points
This is an unofficial meet, what happens is totally up to you guys, get involved in the forum, and they’ll be a bunch of like minded people in the same situation
They’ll be way more the 8 people maximum playing, so it’ll be possible to organise different groups of people with different requirements.
What goes on is totally up to you, but there’ll be a bunch of like-minded people online at the same time so its a good idea to organise the exchange of PSN details and actually have a good meet-up get things done and earn a few missing Trophies.
There will be organised meets in the future, where we allocate people to hosts, and everyone is in a group with similar aims.

OOOH now this interests me a great deal. i never jumped in to burnout online (as i bought it far too late and all my friends had moved on) and i’ve been in the mood to play some of this after watching an episode of Top Gear on Sunday.
If i manage to sort out my netbook (which was my original plan for the evening) i’ll jump on and join in!

Allegedly Amazon dispatched this to me on Saturday and so I *should* have it when I get home tonight. If so, please add superpatch

Haven’t been on Burnout in a while, this might just kick-start me to get a few more trophies

Great idea to advertise the meet-ups on the front page. I’ll be there if the boss is in a good mood.

Cheers for the advert CC, great idea to get it on the front page, I will be doing my best to host this party from about 8 onwards, The plan so far is to mix it up a bit, dropping in a few races and stunt runs along with plenty of challenges, If anyone needs anything specific like the 8 players at Wildcats stadium, just mention it over at the forums, drop me a message via the PSN or using a headset during the game (optional of course)
